Given the pretty much total absence of RPG's on the PS3 in Australia, when VC landed it was pretty much a must have for me.
I have racked up about 5 hours thus far and initial impressions are that the game is bloody good.
The storyline is thus far interesting and incredibly well presented. The whole thing unfolds as a book and the game works its way through the book filling in details. It's a little hard to explain, but it works really well.
The combat system is a strange hybrid of turn based rounds and real time control of units. Again it sounds whack but it is awesome fun. A great blend of strategy and action. I look forward to seeing how the strategy develops as the game progresses.
Finally, as you can see from the pic, the art style is unique and really makes the game. Voice acting is great and I have really been struck by how each character in your squad (and you can have 20) is completely unique and detailed. It is very rare for a game not to be full generic clones and it is a nice change that makes the world more immersive.
