The Bourne Ultimatum

on 31 August 2007

I went and saw number three in the Bourne trilogy tonight and it is a bloody good movie. Ultimatum wraps up the Bourne storyline really well without closing things off to neatly.

The acting is, once again, really solid. I was very happy to see Julia Stiles character, Nikki, actually do something other than hide and whimper. Matt Damon did a solid job as the confused Bourne bashing and shooting his way to the truth.

The shining beacon however has to be the cinematography. I am absolutely in love with handicam movies and Ultimatum is one of the best examples I have seen. They have definitely evolved their style from Supremacy and taken it to a new level.

All in all it's a fun movie to watch, the plot, though scarce, remains interesting all the way through and it keeps the pedal to the metal to the last minutes.

If you like a solid action movie with just enough plot to get it by, this one is for you.

Australian Idol

on 30 August 2007

Tonight I attended an episode of Australian Idol.

Being in the audience was an interesting experience and involved an awful lot of clapping and screaming, both of which were great fun. The whole live experience is alot different to the TV show.

Damien Leith, the last Aussie Idol, performed live and while I think his current single is boring, he performed well live.

The highlight was the audience rev up guy though. He was a big fat dude who was seriously funny and quite a bit of fun.

All in all it is something I would recommend doing once, but I probably won't do again. It's just easier to sit on the couch with a beer.

I am happy Brianna got in to the final 12. Am greatly looking forward to her future performances.

Cheers

Sign's From God

on 28 August 2007

Yep, it's a genuine sign from GOD.

Tonight the moon went Red.

My interpretation...Ferrari are destined to win the World F1 Championship. It's God's will.

Hallelujah!

Back to Work

on 27 August 2007

It's Monday, which means it was back to work day today.

Was a tough day for me today. I had a lot to do and was not feeling at all well. I ended the day with a huge headache.

Atleast tonight wasn't to bad. I watched the premiere of a show "Californication" and it was actually pretty good. I thought it would just be a whole lot of gratuitous nudity and sex (which it did have) but it also had a decent plot woven in. I'll watch it for a few weeks and see where it leads.

Is getting a little late now so I suppose I better go sleep.

Warhammer Dwarfs

on 25 August 2007

So painting worked for me.

I have started a new Warhammer army, Dwarfs on account of a pile of them being in the Battle for Skull Pass stater set. Which, by the way, is a fantastic deal, for the price of the manual you get a pocket manual and a pile of miniatures. Schweet.

This is my prototype for color scheme. The main theme will be red, the Warriors however will have a general mish-mash or 'earthy' tones on account of them being non-professional soldiers. They just wear there own gear into battle. The more elite troops will have much more red.

I am aiming to get a 1000 point list together for the starters then slowly expand it out to 2000.

I'll keep this updated as I paint new figures.

Peace.

Weekend...

It's the weekend and I have no idea what to do.

I was planning on playing Bioshock all weekend but had to can that idea.

You see, 2K (the publisher of Bioshock) thought it would be a GREAT idea to stick an evil little Rootkit on the disc with the game, not to mention a couple of other insane copy protection clause. The worst of which is you can only 'activate' the game twice. That is twice forever.

This leads to the age old problem do I:

  1. Fork out $90 for the game and put up with all the copy protection crap (rootkit, limited installs, online activation, DVD in drive to play) all of which annoy me. Or,
  2. Download it, pay nothing and have none of the annoying restriction/activation issues.
And these companies wonder why they lose more and more revenue to pirates.

Enough ranting... back to what to do with my weekend. Study rears it's ugly head as an immediate option but I am not that interested in it. A quick look at the movies shows nothing of special interest on and weekend TV appears to have sunk to a new low.

Riding, gym, painting and cleaning are the remaining options... I think I'll paint for a bit then hit the park for a ride when the Girl gets home.

Over and over and over again....

on 23 August 2007

Right.

I decided to start again.

The old blog was full of crap anyway.

Hopefully I will manage to keep this one nice and neat.
